Expanding Your Competitive Business Edge

Two of the City’s Economic Development Department’s divisions have teamed up to offer small business owners a competitive edge.

In response to the growing number of emerging small businesses in San Antonio, the Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) and the South Texas Women’s Business Center (STWBC) are co-hosting a series of seminars for established business owners focusing on areas such as strategic marketing, contracting, business leadership & development, business proposals and presentations.

Small businesses play an integral role in the city’s economic vitality and global competitiveness. These seminars are geared at helping entrepreneurs to not only revamp their business strategies, but allow them to connect with peers, and build on their innovation and services. The program will consist of six seminars that will run bi-monthly from March until November. Each seminar is approximately two hours long.

The first seminar will take place at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 11 at the Frost Bank Tower- 19th floor, 100 W. Houston. The cost of the entire program (six seminars) is $60, and participants who complete the program will receive a certificate of completion.

“Expanding Your Competitive Business Edge seminars are integrated with the precise resources to help business owners learn new strategies and techniques that lead to business growth and success,” says Pat Tovar, Director of PTAC.
