Citizens reminded to display political signs in designated areas
The City of San Antonio would like to remind residents about the requirements to display political signs. Per City ordinance, failure to place political signs within designated areas could result in the sign being removed.
Political signs qualify as Temporary Signs that can be displayed without a permit provided they meet certain criteria. They must be placed at least two feet inside the private property line, so as not to interfere with public safety. In addition, they can be displayed for 90 consecutive days.
Political signs that are placed in the City’s public right-of-way often qualify as Bandit Signs, which may be removed. The City makes every effort to notify campaign offices when political signs are out of compliance.
