DSABC 8.25 Arbitration Award
The DSABC Executive Board is excited to announce that the arbitration case concerning the 8.25 work day has been concluded in our favor. The exact language of the award is as follows:
8.25 Arbitration Award
Grievance sustained. The County is directed to cease charging 8.25 leave hours and instead charge 8.0 leave hours for all types of authorized leave when employees working the 41.25 hour work week established by Art. 11 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement take leave for a full shift. The County is to correct the leave records for all affected employees retroactive to October 31, 2006. This arbitrator maintains jurisdiction to assist all parties.
The County has started their efforts in complying with this decision. The Executive Board would like to thank David Van Os, and Marilyn Bradley for their work on this case. We would also like to thank you the members for having faith in us to protect your rights. This victory is hard evidence of why Collective Bargaining is important. This is proof that you can stand up to injustices and be assured that your Union will stand with you. Let’s keep up the good work and continue this fight together. LET’S DIE ON OUR FEET RATHER THAN LIVE ON OUR KNEES.
