Grand Opening Southside Office District 5

SAN ANTONIO, TX.- On February 9th, 2008 at 10:00 a.m., City Council District 5 will hold a Grand Opening for the Southside Field Office. Located at the Nogalitos Plaza on 3226 Nogalitos Street, the Southside office will be the district’s second field office and will provide further services to the community from within the heart of Palm Heights.

The grand opening will take place from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. and will bring together a number of city departments to meet with the community and inform constituents of all services offered by their departments. Additionally, food and beverages will be served at the event. For your convenience shuttle service will be provided at Graebner Elementary School (530 Hoover).

The new field office will provide constituents with enhanced access to City Council staff in order to address issues pertinent to the surrounding area, as well as be better informed of City activities.

There will be an open-door policy allowing all constituents the ability to come into the office during hours of operation at their leisure to get more information on the variety of City services and address all concerns.  District 5 is the only district within the city to have two operational field offices and is looking forward to continuing to bridge the gap between neighborhoods and City Hall.

"The opening of the new Southside Field Office marks a significant milestone for the District as we continue to increase community outreach within the entire District and increase our efficiency to all constituents," said District 5 Councilwoman Lourdes Galvan.
