NWABC Hosts Candidate Forum for Northwest Districts of San Antonio

 

 

 

 

The Northwest Area Business Council hosted the City Council Candidate Forum for Districts 6, 7 and 8 at the Northside Activity Center last Tuesday. Candidates who participated were Anna Marie Caballero (D6), Ray Lopez (D6), Robert Garibay (D7), Michael Berlanga (D8), Melissa Martinez-Carrasco (D8), Jody Sherrill (D8) and Reed Williams (D8). Candidates were asked questions regarding economic development, transportation, education, unionization and energy. 

Not present at the Forum were Candidates Koi Mykale Smith (D6), Marc Zabriskie (D6), Justin Rodriguez (D7), Elena Guajardo (D7), Jacob Joseph Dell (D8) and Juan C. Davila (D8).

 

Every candidate running for office in the May election has been presented with a series of questions provided by Chamber members, regarding economic development, job creation and retention; emergency services; education; water; transportation; energy and city budget and finance.
 

Responses have been received from District 6 Candidates Anna Caballero, Ray Lopez and Koi Mykale Smith. Robert Garibay, Justin Rodriguez and Elena Guajardo, all of the District 7 Candidates, responded as well. Responses from District 8 Candidates Juan C. Davila, Reed Williams, Melissa Martinez-Carrasco and Jody Sherrill are also available.

There are two remaining City Council Forums for Districts 3, 4, 1 and 5 that will occur before the May election. The South Area Business Council will host the Districts 3 and 4 Forum on April 14 at the Texas A&M University-Kingsville System Center-San Antonio. The Central Area Business Council will host the Districts 1 and 5 Forum the following day at Our Lady of the Lake University, in the Providence West Social Room.
