TWC Partners with Palo Alto College

SAN ANTONIO, TX. –– Time Warner Cable San Antonio (TWCSA) and Palo Alto College have formed a partnership to provide TWCSA with a highly qualified talent pool of candidates to become cable technicians.  Students at Palo Alto College will now be offered the Basic Cable and Telecommunications course that is designed to teach skills required to become cable technicians with TWCSA.

“The partnership with Palo Alto College is a unique job-entry skills training program that will give students an advantage over other applicants,” said Jon Gary Herrera, vice president of governmental and public affairs for Time Warner Cable San Antonio.  “This public-private partnership will provide hands-on lessons that will benefit the student as they start a career with Time Warner Cable.”

The basic cable program will take 51 hours to complete and costs $750, which includes tuition, textbooks and toolkit.  Upon successful completion of a criminal background check and drug test, all students successfully completing the course are guaranteed an interview with TWCSA.

“The Time Warner Cable—Palo Alto College partnership is a result of Time Warner Cable’s commitment to its current and future employees, and our dedication to working with corporations in ways that best serve the community’s needs,” said Dr. Ana M. “Cha” Guzmán, Palo Alto College President.
