Two weeks left for high school seniors to apply for the 2009 MLK Scholarship
High school seniors who plan to pursue a college degree and are looking for financial assistance have two more weeks to apply for the 2009 Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship. The deadline to apply for the scholarship is 4:00 p.m. on Friday, March 6. The City’s Martin Luther King, Jr. Commission is currently accepting applications from graduating seniors who attend a high school within Bexar County.
Individuals interested in obtaining an application may do so by visiting the City’s website at www.sanantonio.gov/mlk. Completed applications must be turned in by 4:00 p.m. to the following address:

Each year, the MLK Commission awards $1000 scholarships to area students. Scholarship funds originate from a variety of charitable donors that include small businesses, large corporations, non-profits and individual citizens. Scholarship recipients will be recognized during a City Council meeting in May.
